Hiking Test

The sun's starting to shine

The day starts off at 7.30am. I know its super early. We have to start walking and compete with other groups. Quite fun but in the end, I became a 'vegetable'! *laughs*

We have to report to our seniors to get the codes. And we obviously have to break it and guess where is the place. Quite tiring and brainstorming though...

Stefanie was rushing us to Portuguese Settlement. Gah.. Tiring

When we were running and talking and laughing while rushing there, cars were looking at us as though we're green aliens running around. We ran from IJC to the Portuguese Settlement's seaside. (should I say seaside? Whatever) I can't get a snapshot of the sea eventhough the scenery was nice with the sun rising. Sea was very calm. I can't use my phone in front of my seniors because they say that the phone is only for emergency if you're lost somewhere.

My first time seeing this. The place in front was awesome!

So, we went to report ourselves and get the clue and break the codes again. Brainstorming. YM was standing on the rocks and she looks like as though she was going to fall in the water! But she isn't worrying about anything but the medic, who had fever this morning was worried for her.

Anyway, our next destination was the Petronas in Ujong Pasir. No joke of running there to compete with others. They're so fast like a speed of light. However, Medic got a cut on her leg. How weird. While others were sweating their green, vegetable-looking shirts. After reporting ourselves, we have to wait for the others eventhough we were the second to solve.

Our next destination was Yok Bin highschool. Imagine - NO SHORTCUTS. So we have to use the police station way, pass the traffic light, running! Cross the road while it is green(very safe way ok). And we ran our way to the Yok Bin highschool's outside compound. Around the shops there. And we rested in the Chicken Rice shop. After resting for not even 20 minutes, we came out to wait for Mrs. Chitra.

We were waiting like slaves for Mrs. Chitra. She was so late!!!

Out of boredom, she waited for us to snap her like this

After she came, we report ourselves again and we got the code. Our next destination was the Bukit Cina. We walked our way there because we know that there were no groups behind us. We were still the second one. NO SHORTCUTS. SO we walked pass the cemetery and we screamed when we saw 2 dead bloody cats on the road. Irresponsible drivers. Their attitude is really bad. I didn't take the cat's photos because it is highly disgusting.

When we were walking around the cemetery

We arrived at our destination which is Pay Fong 3 primary school. The seniors then asked us to climb up the Bukit Cina hill where all the tombstones were. Scary because it was quite dark there since the sun hasn't fully risen. So the seniors asked us to sing songs while running up the hill. We were very noisy such that the tourists around looked at us as though we were like some kind of creatures.

The hill was the first time I went there and the scenery was very very attractive. I can see Bukit Cina area! We break the codes. And guess what? We have to run to the Clock Tower at the Red Buildings. NO SHORTCUTS. We have to pass by Public Bank, tourists attraction, tuition centers where friends saw us and laughed at us.

While running, my legs were aching. My friend asked me to go shoes-less. So I did. And another friend of mine too. Legs aching, shoulders aching, argh!
Shoes-less me

So, we arrived at the Clock Tower. Our task was to draw the Regina tower. It must be so beautiful then only we can pass. We drawed like trash. But the seniors said "Okaylah!" and we got the clues to break. Next destination was the St Paul's Hill. We gotta count how many steps were there. Most of us were using our hands and feet to go up the hill. Tourists laughed at us but we ignored and continued our long way up.

We arrived there. The seniors asked us to copy this whole passage of history! Each person 1 copy.

The passage which was so long that our handwriting go haywire!

All of a sudden, we were so 'attracted' to our Melaka's History. *laughs*

Not only that, we have to draw Paul's body figure! Tourists looked at us so weirdly and laughing at us. But they should understand that we were under a hiking test which is like the Amazing Race. *laughs* After giving our seniors the 8 copies of passage of the history of St. Paul's church and 8 copies of the drawings of Paul's figure, we finally reported ourselves and got the next clue.

Next destination, Mahkota Parade playground where we said "In the end" there. We gotta know that we were the first group to arrive there. We were so happy but our Mrs. Lee Soo Lee asked us to sing the song - 3 Little Ducklings while walking around the playground. How shy! But to complete our task, we did! Everyone was laughing at our 3 Little Ducklings with the actions that we did with our hands! Embarrassed, we went back after a few rounds walking and report ourselves.

Everyone was extremely tired

After that, we went straight to Mahkota Parade and had our lunch there and I head straight back home after that.

At home, I was sick. And sleepy. And tired. Legs are hurt, socks are black, I was smelly, my bag was wet because of my sweat, and after all that, I settled down myself and I posted this.
